Meet The Staff

Paige Holt, MD

"I’ll never forget my first patient, a baby with a cleft lip, and the mom and dad were so grateful.  This is such rewarding work I just fell in love with it!"

Dr. Holt’s work as a surgeon allows her to treat a wide variety of patients, more than most specialties:  both children and seniors, men and women.  "About one third of our cases are cosmetic; the rest reconstruction after cancer or trauma.  I particularly enjoy working on hands; the anatomy is so intricate, more proof that God has a plan!"

Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Holt received her BS from Auburn University and her MD from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.  She was chief resident of the Integrated Plastic Surgery Program at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield when she met her husband, Travis, now a colorectal surgeon at OSF St. Joseph.

"I am delighted to join OSF," she says.  "I truly believe in the Sisters’ Mission of service, regardless of the ability to pay.  It’s important to me as a physician to be able to care for any patients and meet the needs of the community."

The Drs. Holt are now happily settled in our community themselves, in a true family neighborhood.  "My husband’s brother is here with three-year old triplets and there’s also a cousin with a toddler and a new baby.  Our son Parker, is two-and-a-half, so they’ll all be in the same school together.

"Right now, Parker is our main hobby.  I just love being a mother, it’s so amazing!  We got a late start so we really enjoy our family time, going to the gym, playing t-ball and soccer or just grilling out."
